Plimouth Plantation

Plimouth Plantation

This photo I took today. There were no  tourists amazingly in this shot- it was taken a few minutes to closing so most people were already checking out at the visitors center while I was the late straggler trying to take a few last minute shots.
I love the Plantation and think its one of the best places to visit in Massachusett. This is my fourth visit to Plimouth and I love it there----its gorgeous.

Rags To Heirloom Doll -one of a kind.

Rag to Heirloom doll

This doll body is handmade from cotton, her face has been hand embroidered and her hair is made from fleece cut into strips. She is one of a kind and made for my niece who just turned 21. I wanted it to be a keepsake and an heirloom in the making so I embroidered the pantaloons with her name, her birthday and then also added her mums, grandmothers and great grand mothers names. The dress is made from an old embroidered linen piece that my mum had given me before she died. The little pearl button is another vintage piece that I also got from my mum. This picture was edited by my brother and added to a photo that he had in his recent archive.

Rags to Heirloom Dolls

These two are approx 20inches and the pattern I made up as I went along. Bodies are made from cotton and hand sewn then stuffed with fiberfill. Hair is from fleece that I buy by the yard and then cut into strips. Dolls are one of a kind
